We’ve learned hard lessons concerning disease control in recent years. Some of them were/are very painful, but we can find freeing knowledge hidden in all the control. The work/life balance is shifting back to life/work.

How many of you have changed to hybrid or remote-work employment in the last few years? You have figured out how remote you are willing to work. Welcome to remote work nirvana. If it is rainy season in Phuket, the weather is great for researching condos for sale in Pattaya Thailand

Pick a beach to call home. When the season changes, change beaches for a few weeks. Chonburi province is in the top three growing provinces in Thailand. Bangkok has been in the #1 spot for years. Now Chonburi and Rayong provinces are wrestling through infrastructure development and business friendliness to attract more Thai and foreign companies, investors, and residents.

This is an excellent time to claim your piece of peace. The nearby areas are a festival so choose the place you intend to sleep carefully. There is always something on in Pattaya, Pratumnak, and Jomtien areas. World fireworks, jet-ski, weightlifting, para-games, and gymnastics competitions occur annually in the area.

You are aware of annual festivals and a near-endless list of observations on the holiday calendar here. I am a fan of how the Thai people celebrate the Thai, Chinese, and Western Lunar/New Year celebrations. Three big parties each year of epic scale for, essentially, one event with different meanings.

Allow me the last few minutes of this read to convey some of my experiences and solutions for living here, to those still planning their remote destination.

  • The most respectful way to show you care about the foreign nation you choose to live in is to learn the language. Learn the basic words to be polite first. Most citizens of western dense areas have basic English skills pertaining to their business or interaction with us, and not much more.
  • Although not necessary to live here, the level of your Thai language skills will directly relate to lowering your cost of living and increasing your experience quality.
  • More than a quarter of all animal and plant life, live and grow in Thailand. Mould can be aggressive if allowed to take hold. Shoes, electronics, bicycles, and household items can deteriorate rapidly. Store everything with care; whether for next week or next season.
  • Whether you are a digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent hopeful, freelancer, muaythai, culinary or language student, or long-term medical treatment patient the Discover Thailand Visa (DTV), is worth consideration. I am no visa specialist, but add the DTV to your research list.

There are various short-term visa options for visitors from different countries. Verify which ones apply to you.  The DTV allows for a 6-month visa, which is renewable (one time) for an additional six months. Within that amount of time here you can find a permanent place and sort out the rest of your needs to work or retire in Thailand.
